Job Description

Role Overview

The Microsoft Azure Sales Specialist is a quota‑carrying overlay sales role responsible for accelerating the growth of Synapse360’s Microsoft Azure and Microsoft cloud services revenue.

The role sits alongside the Field Sales Account Executives, providing deep Microsoft and Azure expertise to support opportunity development, customer engagement, and deal progression. Internally, the specialist acts as the Microsoft evangelist and subject‑matter expert, enabling sales teams with knowledge, positioning, and go‑to‑market guidance. Externally, they work directly with customers to shape, present, and sell Azure‑based solutions.

This role works closely with Microsoft partner teams, pre‑sales, and delivery to ensure Synapse360 is positioned as a trusted Microsoft partner and to maximise co‑sell opportunities, funding, and joint wins.

Success in this role will be measured by Azure services revenue growth, pipeline influence, and the effective enablement of the wider sales organisation.

Key Responsibilities

Azure Sales & Revenue Ownership

  • Carry a specialist sales quota focused on Microsoft Azure and Microsoft cloud services revenue
  • Build, influence, and progress a strong Azure‑focused pipeline across new and existing customers
  • Support Field Sales Account Executives in shaping, qualifying, and closing Azure opportunities
  • Drive adoption of Synapse360’s Azure‑based services, including migration, modernisation, optimisation, and managed services
  • Provide commercial input into Azure proposals, pricing models, and consumption‑based deals

Internal Evangelism & Sales Enablement

  • Act as Synapse360’s internal Microsoft Azure subject‑matter expert
  • Evangelise Azure and Microsoft solutions across the sales organisation
  • Deliver internal training sessions, briefings, and updates on Azure services, incentives, and roadmap changes
  • Work closely with pre‑sales and solution architects to ensure opportunities are well‑designed and aligned to customer outcomes

Customer Engagement & Solution Selling

  • Join customer meetings alongside Field Sales to provide Azure expertise
  • Lead or support discovery sessions, workshops, and solution presentations
  • Build credibility and trust with customer stakeholders across technical, operational, and executive levels
  • Position Synapse360 as a trusted Microsoft Azure partner

Pipeline Management & Governance

  • Accurately manage and forecast Azure opportunities using Salesforce (SFDC)
  • Maintain high‑quality opportunity data, ensuring clear next steps, close plans, and commercial visibility
  • Report on Azure pipeline health, revenue performance, and key deal progress
  • Work collaboratively with sales leadership to prioritise opportunities and resources

Requirements

  • Collaborative and influential, able to work across sales, pre‑sales, delivery, and partner teams
  • Self‑motivated, organised, and able to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously

Experience

Essential Experience

  • Proven experience in B2B Microsoft Azure or cloud solution sales, ideally within a Microsoft partner, MSP, Resellers, or systems integrator
  • Demonstrable success carrying a quota and contributing directly to cloud or Azure services revenue growth
  • Experience working with Microsoft or for Microsoft, including engagement with Microsoft account teams
  • Ability to support and influence field sales teams as a specialist overlay
  • Strong customer‑facing capability, including leading discovery sessions, workshops, and solution presentations
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex Azure concepts to both technical and non‑technical audiences
  • Experience managing opportunities, pipeline, and forecasts using Salesforce (SFDC) or similar CRM tools

Desirable Experience

  • Experience selling Azure consumption‑based services and managed services contracts
  • Previous experience in a Microsoft co‑sell environment, including joint account planning and pipeline reviews
  • Experience working closely with pre‑sales architects and delivery teams to shape end‑to‑end solution
