Job Purpose

The Regulatory Reporting Accountant is responsible for preparing accurate and timely preparation of the Bank’s regulatory returns and related financial reports across all jurisdictions (Isle of Man, Jersey, United Kingdom and South Africa). This role supports the Regulatory Reporting Manager and wider finance team in ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal standards. The individual will also contribute to the continuous improvement of reporting processes, systems, and controls, and will play a key role in enhancing the regulatory reporting function within the business.

Responsibilities & Duties

• Preparation and submission of regulatory reports and returns, including the interpretation, modelling and presentation of financial data.
• Maintain a strong knowledge of the regulatory reporting requirements applicable to the bank.
• Operate a horizon scanning process for new and upcoming changes to reporting requirements.
• Assist in the development of reporting processes, systems and relevant documentation.
• Liaise with external audit, internal audit and relevant group functions.
• Assist the wider finance department, participating in finance-related projects and initiatives.
• Prepare and submit accurate and timely regulatory, statistical, and compliance-related reports across all jurisdictions. This includes reporting to the; Isle of Man Financial Services Authority (IOMFSA), Jersey Financial Services Commission (JFSC), United Kingdom Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA) and South African Reserve Bank (SARB).
• Assist in the development and maintenance of effective reporting tools, controls, policies, and procedures.
• Monitor and update reporting requirements and procedures to ensure ongoing compliance and efficiency.
• Collaborate with internal and external audit teams to facilitate audits and respond to queries.
• Participate in departmental projects, including attending meetings, reviewing specifications, and conducting relevant User Acceptance Testing.
• Provide support and coverage for time-critical tasks within the wider finance team.
• Contribute to a collaborative and high-performing team environment.

• A minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in a financial or accounting role within a regulated institution or professional services firm, with a strong emphasis on regulatory reporting, financial compliance and / or prudential oversight.
• Proven ability to interpret and apply financial and regulatory reporting standards across multiple jurisdictions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modelling tools.
• Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and a structured approach to problem-solving.
• Demonstrated experience within a regulated financial services environment is essential.
• Familiarity with regulatory reporting frameworks applicable to the banking industry is highly advantageous, either gained from working within industry or by exposure to audit or assurance functions within top-tier accounting firms.

• A professional qualification such as ACCA or ACA is preferred, but candidates with relevant industry experience or close to completion of a relevant qualification will also be considered.
